A drop test to analyse if the steel contains molybdenum or not, works as a simple test to see if the steel is of ASTM 304 or 316 grades.

The test will identify the grade within 5-10 minutes through a colour change.

Is concentrated, one part of neutralising agent treats one parts of picking paste.

Avesta Cleaner 401 is aimed for a wide-range of industrial cleaning applications and it offers a good general cleaning result on stainless steel surfaces.
It is suitable for applications such as:

• Pre-cleaning before pickling
• Removal of sea water staining
• Removal of surface rust
• Removal of oil and grease
• Restoring and brightening of surface finishes
• Removal of water staining and lime deposits

A final passivation with Avesta FinishOne 630 could be done directly after the cleaning to ensure a rapid formation of the passive layer.

Avesta RedOne Picking Paste 140

A strong pickling paste, suitable for the pickling in difficult applications such as very high alloyed stainless steel grades, at lower temperatures in colder climate etc. This spray is specifically intended for the picking of larger surfaces.
Applications for:

High -alooy steel grades such as 904 L ,duplex and SMO
Rough , hot rolled surfaces
Thick layers of welding oxides ( e.g welding with covered stick electrodes or flux cored wire)
Picking at low temperature , + 5c
Short picking times
